Puppies!!!

Yesterday I surprised Matt when I pulled up in the driveway with a dog crate. Dawn and I carried it inside and let out the two little fur balls. Matt's eyes got a little big but I quickly reassured him they weren't ours and we are just puppy-sitting. He took a deep breath and the look of terror evaporated off his face. So for the rest of the night we were entertained by Puppy#1 and Puppy#2 (the names that were written on their crate). I'm not really sure whose dogs they are and who they're going to but I do know they came from Winnipeg and are on their way to Chesterfield Inlet. The plane was full so they got bumped. They're actually still here but I handed them off to Dawn this morning. We thought they would fly out at noon but at around 1pm she gave me a call to let me know they were still in town. I let her know I had just finished mopping and carpet cleaning so I guess they will stay with her tonight. Mika and Nanook were kind of freaked out at first. I'm not sure what they thought of them but I imagined it to be something like "Wow! These stuffed animals are the coolest ones moms brought home so far! They move around so fast and still squeak when we bite them!"
Anyway....I still want a puppy but it will have to wait until April. So we'll just have to make do with these little guys and all the other dogs that end up here until then.

Oh wow! They are soooo cute! I'd have a hard time giving them back. They'd be stuffed under the couch and I'd be saying "what puppies??!!" when someone came to pick them up...lol!

What a fun experience and what a good experience for the puppies....will beinteresting if you ever find out who their owners are. In 2006 I accompanied a 8 week old labradoodle on its way to Pond and overnighted at capital suites....not much sleep!
