My New Kamiks

This morning Bill came by with a pair of his mother's old seal skin Kamiks. I've been wanting a pair for a while now and they fit perfectly so I bought them. My class will be making duffel socks (linings) in a couple of weeks so I will make myself a new pair and try stitching some flowers or a different pattern on them.
I've already tested them out and they are amazing. I took the dogs out for a run and walked through snow and over ice and my feet were perfectly warm! It beats lugging around my Sorel Glaciers.
We were supposed to run Dawn's dogs today but the visibility is too low. If it clears up tomorrow we'll take them out to Panorama Island and I'll take a bunch of pictures to post up.

I have a pair of kamiik very similar to those that I bought last year. Aren't they just the best? Love your photography on you blog too. Good luck in the Nunies!

FOUR dogs....two extras! My grandfather has some kamiks similar to those and I have a sneaking suspicion I may have given them away but am now going to check in the garage!
